Question of the day!
When you use black sharpie markers instead of sidewalk chalk, does it eventually fade or wash away? Hmmm, I hope so!

Cost of War
I heard about this website on my way home from work today and found it interesting. I'm not getting into my opinion, just letting you all know the "cost"---it's outrageous!

Pics of the new boyfriend!
.jpg)

My happy sister has a new boyfriend.....from Tampa! And he's here this weekend to hang with her and of course, to meet moi! Just kidding! I did meet him last night and then tonight they came over for dinner....and here's some pics. Enjoy!
OH, BTW, his name is Chris, he's a few months older than me, he's a computer software something or other, he went to college for 4 years to become a pastor and then decided otherwise, he has a younger sister who lives next to my sister, he's kinda shy but funny, and we all watched Borat tonight and laughed hysterically! I'd say that he's a good fit so far!

Note to my Neighbors (warning, swearing ahead!)
Fellow Residents of Woodland Streams:
Hello. My name is Julie and I live on Marsh Circle. I have lived here almost two years and I want to say to all of you, that it is because of you, I am desperately wanting out of this neighborhood. Good riddance, you say, right? Not so fast. First you will listen to what I have to say.
To start, I am not moving anytime soon. The equity in our brand new homes is minor at best and I accredit some of that to the way you chose to live. If there are 2 adults (drivers) in your home, why must you have 5 vehicles? Do you pay insurance on all of them? Do you NEED all of them? If you want to build a junkyard, you should talk to the Homeowners' Association first, as I think they might reject the idea. While on the subject of motor vehicles, there is no need to park your riding lawnmower in your driveway. Heck, our yards aren't even large enough for riders but I understand for you obese people, even a little excercise causes too much stress on the heart, so you're excused, but please park the mower in the garage, where it belongs.
Onto trash! The fact that your garbage smells so bad in the winter that you cannot keep your cans in your garage, means your eating habits are disgusting. I admit mine smells of cat litter, but I keep it in the garage, so that in a windstorm (which happens daily here in Goshen!) my trash isn't all over your yard. I would appreciate the same courtesy. I know some of you use your garage as a smoking hut in the winter and don't want to smell your own trash, so grow a fucking brain and find somewhere to put your stinky shit, ok? I'm sick of picking it up out of my front yard and I might even start decorating YOUR HOUSE with your garbage, so fair warning.
Onto personal space! You have it, I have it, we all love it, am I right? My yard is my yard. I don't like to look up while cooking dinner to see your hoodlum children running through my backyard in a game of tag or better yet, using my front porch as fucking base for their shouting match. You know who you are. I am not against kids...I have two of my own, but I can guarantee you have never seen them in your yard, because I watch them and they have MANNERS. They are told daily to play in their own yard or in the yards of those kids they are playing with. Common sense, eh? Your kids are about as bad as your dogs. Your dogs come and shit in my yard and pretty much in every yard they get around to since you open the door and let them roam the neighborhood. Funny thing is, they chose yards of people who don't even have dogs. I bet I know why...ever heard of a "pooper scooper"? You all seem to be fucking retards who are lazy and don't give a shit what your kids and animals are doing as long as you don't have to do anything yourself. I would love to offer you all permanent birth control to stop the "stupid" population and sic animal rescue on your asses to get your animals to homes where they are loved and have boundaries. Better yet, I'd love it if you all just moved down the street to the trailer parks where you belong and leave the neighborhood to the people who give a shit! OK?
Sincerely,
Julie

What I learned today
Today was an unusual day. All the drivers showed up and I wasn't needed! Hmpf! This afternoon I sat around shooting the shit with my boss outside, relaxing in the sunshine, gettin' paid, drinking a pop. Wanna hear what I learned? I learned about bike-wineing (sp?). My boss (who is in her early 50s) decided to ride her bike 11 miles to Morrow on a bike trail (you go girl....I don't go more than .11 miles in anything but a car!) and hit the winery for a few tastings and some lunch. After tasting many wines she asked for a menu, only to be told that they don't serve lunch! HAHAHAHAHA! They offered her some cheese and crackers to help soak up the wine, but alas, she had drank too much on an empty stomach and had to bike her way back to Loveland. On her way home (with 4 bottles of wine in her backpack) she called her daughters and left them a message about what had happened, only she kept going off the trail and talking to herself to get back on--this was all on their voicemail. Then she made up the term "bike-wineing"----and told her girls to never try it! And that's what I learned at work today. The end!

Hello March!

.jpg)

I am LOVING this weather! What's going on here in Cincinnati? I have no idea, but it can stay this way until Beach season. Sunday I met some friends for breakfast and then I took the kids to the Zoo. It wasn't even that crowded, although there was hardly anything open, foodwise and trainwise. The animals seemed cute...like they were excited that it was "people" season. Some showed off for everyone, came to the edge of the glass or the cage and looked people right in the eye. Either they were showing off, or they were laughing their asses off at us "people" who were totally entertained by a little sun and some animals.
Speaking of animals, I went on a fieldtrip with Zac last Friday to the Shrine Circus. The animals are really not as cool to see as the trapeze artists and motorcross riders. Anyway, the tigers were there and there was one tiger who didn't want to do the "act" at all. He came out of the cage hissing at the others, ears flat back against his head. I felt so sorry for him/her. I just imagine my own cats and how they feel when they get upset or fiesty like that. It got me thinking about the circus. I really think they should do away with the animal parts of the show. If you wanna hang by your toes 2 stories up and flip through the air, that's your right (and stupidity) as a HUMAN, but these animals didn't chose to be in the circus in front of screaming kids day in and day out. It really ruined the experience for me.

Terry gets an A++!
GO TERRY! My husband has single handedly transformed into a REAL husband and father over the last few days (fingers crossed...I don't want to jinx myself). It started when he got to go on two fishing trips this weekend, for short periods of time. I explained that the trade off for this was to clean all 3 bathrooms and so he did. Next day comes, and it's Zac's first day of karate at the actual martial arts school at 5pm. Who gets off work early to attend? None other than my husband (round of applause!). Yesterday he had (in his OWN words) an "awesome day at work"--please keep in mind, those words have never passed his lips when talking about work. It was so awesome because he finally has an honest to goodness "crew" that knows what they are doing in the kitchen. YIPPEE! I advised him I would go to any means necessary to keep these guys in his kitchen...free beer, bbq at the Casey house, whatever it takes, people. And the true test came today. We were jolted awake at 2am by the sounds of a 6 year old puking all over our bedroom floor. Again and again and again. Thankfully Zac had had little to eat last night, so it wasn't disgusting. Anyhoo, Zac wanted Daddy to sleep with him and so he did. Then he called in to let work know that he would be 3-4 hours late so that I could go to work. We compromised and did so that I only have to miss a half day. Thanks Terry....that has earned you the "good husband of the day" award and a few hours of fishing this weekend! LOL!

I'm now a Karate Mom!
Today was Zac's last day of a special 6 week series of Karate offered at his school. We went to the actual Martial Arts school and were shown what our kids had learned (and like a dummy, I forgot my camera). Very impressive job by the kids! In that moment we were so excited that we didn't see it coming. You know, the pitch. Within minutes we had signed away a few hundred dollars and made a commitment for the next 6 months, 2 times per week, to take Zac to the karate school for him to learn more and move up a few belts. As of right now, he's a white belt. By the end of the school year he will at least be yellow or orange belt. YAHOO!
This upcoming week we are also starting a basketball clinic. Both kids are doing this, again, two nights per week for an hour, so my weeks will be FILLED with practice, practice, practice. Thank goodness basketball ends before swim lessons start, or I'd need a calendar in my car just to tell me where I'm going.

Is it all about me?
Lately I'm feeling like I'm either being selfish, or flat out not thought of. I'm speaking about my role here at home. Terry either works, fishes, sighs and complains here at home about his job, or plays video games with Zac. I put these things in order of largest to smallest percentage of time he spends on each per week...work and fishing being the most etc etc. This house was a wreck last week and I cleaned it up...all of it....ok, most of it! I had about 13 people over for a Pampered Chef party and we had good food which Terry provided, but really, that's all he did.
He doesn't paint, he doesn't clean, he doesn't do dishes for the most part unless I ask him and he only does his laundry, unless ours is in the way. He doesn't pick up after himself most of the time, he certainly doesn't pick up after the kids. He takes no pride in our home. Am I selfish? Is it too much to ask that our conversation at night be about something other than his shitty day at work or what lake he will be taking his poles to this weekend? I mean, really. Last night I was so dog tired (not that I've done a whole lot around here this week and I only cooked soup and grilled cheese last night) that after I got Lillie out of the tub, I climbed in bed with my book and let him fight with the kids at teeth time and bedtime and he had to put Zac in the tub without me. Never mind asking him to read a story to them or snuggle them in their beds...no, I guess that's something only I can do. Hell, Zac reads the bedtime stories to us now....how easy is that?
Anyway, I guess I'm feeling like I can only handle so much of my own husband....before I want to kick him in the ass and tell him to snap out of it and initiate something with me other than sex and something with the kids, other than video games. Life isn't about your job...and it sure as hell isn't about FISHING! I'm so sick of that word I could scream! Loudly! Enough for Karri to hear me in Wisconsin....yes, that loud!
So, am I selfish? Did you get enough of my one-sided story to make a decision? I know he works 65+ hours a week, but come on....he helped make these kids and buy this house, the least he can do is try to enjoy them, encourage and take pride in them, and HELP HIS WIFE SOMETIMES WITHOUT HER ASKING HIM TO!
